Eats: The Bucket Shop goes Cajun

I’m a big fan of Boudreaux’s, so when I heard they were opening the Bucket Shop back up I could not wait. When I got there with my wife and walked in, it felt like going back in time. It still has the antique bottles and the history of St. Joe, with some TLC. Looking over the menu, I decided to go with the Cajun fried turkey sandwich, and my wife went with the steak tenders. Now this was not any ordinary fried turkey sandwich — the turkey is injected Louisiana-style to seal in the juices, served on 7-inch French bread with tiger sauce, shredded lettuce and a sliced tomato along with your choice of homemade french fries or onion rings. I would say the tiger sauce makes this whole sandwich come together with its spicy flavor that goes well with the deep-fried turkey. The steak tenders are served with a cream sauce and your choice of french fries or onion rings. What makes this special is that it is Boudreaux’s chicken fried steak only cut into strips. She also tried the tenders dipped in the tiger sauce and wow — what a great taste! I recommend getting some on the side. We topped all this off with a homemade bread pudding that is made with pecans and coconut served warm in a cream sauce. This is a great place to stop by on your lunch break or to start your evening. What you will find here is fresh fast food with a little bit of Cajun.
