"Lifelong Road Trip" follows the lives of the Nace Brothers

Thursday, May 14, 2009

Every person in the Nace family has had music pumping through their veins. From violinist Valandingham Nace to bluegrass fiddler Percy Nace and '60s rockabilly smash Johnny Nace, the family has been heavily influenced. And for the last three decades, David and Jimmy Nace have been carrying on that tradition.

The Nace Brothers have taken their bluesy Americana sound all over this country. The Warrensburg natives have played just about everywhere from Kansas City to Key West. In fact, the band plays well over 200 shows a year. The 2008 documentary "Lifelong Road Trip" follows the group from show to show.

It also traces the band's 28 years in the music business including long travels, the addition of members and working with Jimmy Buffett. It's a revealing tale of a traveling band. The "Lifelong Road Trip" DVD also includes a live 2007 concert from George's Majestic Lounge in Fayetteville, Ark.

The Nace Brothers will be playing at 9 p.m. on Friday, May 15 at Magoon's, and they will have copies of the DVD on hand. If you can't make it out, the DVD is also available online at www.nacebros.com.
