Caleb Carter and Aaron Lisenbee had something in common with Mother Nature in the final day of the Moila InvitationalÂ-Â- - they both were hot.

The duo of Missouri Western golfers caught fire when it matteredÂ-Â-Â-, carding three straight birdies on the final three holes at Moila Country Club to wrap up first place with a Sunday 66 totaling a 130 for the tourney.

"Aaron played really good starting out," Carter said, a senior to be at Missouri Western.

Lisenbee - a Western graduate - had two chip-ins on a solid front 9 start for the pair. Going into hole 16, Cater and Lisenbee were tied with Mitch Girres and Jim Kates.

But while Lisenbee and Carter carded three straight birdies to take the championship, Girres and Kates parred the final three holes.

Girres and Kates trailed by one stroke to start the final day, but their 68 came three strokes shy of first place after failing to match Carter and Lisenbee's performance down the stretch.

"We just couldn't bring it home today," Girres said. "We really had a good shot at winning coming into the final round."

Heavy favorites coming into the tournament, Brad Nurski and Mark Korrel finished in a two-way tie for third place with Josh Maggart and Landon Hochenauer. Both teams recorded two-day totals of 135.

Playing in B Flight, Pete Perrotta made his fourth career hole-in-one with an ace on the 130-yard par-3 17th. The ace helped Perrotta and partner Craig Lytle to a second-round 67 and a two-stroke victory over Savannah's Derek Baade and Ryan Glenn in the tournament's second tier.

Lytle, Scotty Burnham and Harry Roberts witnessed Perrotta's shot with his 9-iron.
