Hello dolly

The St. Joseph Museums will present a series of activities this summer for everyone who enjoys dolls and history. It all begins with "A Welcome Party for Rebecca," the newest addition to the American Girl Doll collection, from 6 to 8 p.m. July 1 at the St. Joseph Museum. During the "Welcome Party for Rebecca," each of the American Girl historic dolls will be on display. Rebecca Rubin, the newest doll in the collection, will be unveiled at 6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

July 2 will be the Rebecca and Friends "Play Day" from 10 a.m. to noon. Children can play with the American Girl dolls at the museum and do a "make & take" craft. The "Play Day" cost is $3 and $1.50 for museum members.

A three-day workshop will tell the story of American Girl dolls, Kit and Ruthie, as well as life in the 1930s. The first session will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. July 15. The second session will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 16. On July 17 at 1 p.m., participants will take a field trip to the Amelia Earhart Festival in Atchison, Kan. The fee for this three-day workshop is $25 ($15 for museum members).
