Eat B.I.G. at Black Iron Grill

B.I.G. signature burger and black and bleu burger at Black Iron Grill

1300 U.S. Highway 136, Rock Port, Mo. (669) 744-2447

A few months ago I was out riding with my Harley buddies and we stopped by a steakhouse and saloon in Rock Port. The food was so good I had to take a second trip with the wife.

This is one cool little place. The inside looks like a roadhouse, with bucket pails as light fixtures and concrete floors - so when you eat your free peanuts you just throw them on the floor. But that is not why we went there. The food is well worth the drive. I ordered the B.I.G. signature burger, which came with Swiss and cheddar cheese, french fries and honey BBQ sauce on top of the three-quarter-pound hamburger with a side of homemade french fries. At first I was wondering if I was going to taste the french fries, but I was surprised. The hamburger was very juicy and had a great taste to it. My wife ordered the black and bleu burger in a half-pound size that was grilled with Cajun spices and topped with bleu cheese. This is a bleu cheese lovers burger. One thing that makes this the place to go to is they have a 77-ounce steak that comes with shrimp cocktail, a salad, baked potato and some bread. If you eat it in an hour, it is yours free. They also have a wide variety on the menu, including frog legs and fried green beans. So if you want to take a nice ride and get some good food, I would recommend stopping by B.I.G.
