COLUMBIA, Mo. — Former Missouri basketball player Jason Horton will wait until at least September for his trial on assault charges for a midseason fight outside a downtown nightclub.
Horton was scheduled to be in court Wednesday. But Boone County Circuit Court records show that hearing was postponed until Sept. 5.
The former Tiger guard is accused of fighting with employees of the Athena nightclub outside an adjoining restaurant in January. In April, one-time teammate Stefhon Hannah pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of disturbing the peace and received probation and community service.
The midseason fight left Hannah with a broken jaw, ending his season. Later, he was kicked off the team for missing class and subsequently withdrew from the university.
Horton served a brief suspension but returned to the team and graduated from the university in May.
