Google has released its final web trends for 2007, and you may be shocked with the results.
In 2001 the top searches were as follows:
1) Nostradamus
2) CNN
3) World Trade Center
4) Harry Potter
5) Antrax
6) Windows XP
7) Osama bin Laden
8) Audiogalaxy
9) Taliban
10) Loft Story
The 2007 results show a different trend in internet searches
1) iPhone
2) Webkinz
3) TMZ
4) Transformers
5) YouTube
6) Club Penguin
7) MySpace
8) Heroes
9) Facebook
10) Anna Nicole Smith
Gone is the doom and gloom off Nostradamus, 24 hours news and apocalyptic disasters. Those were so six years ago. This generation of internet users care more about having the world in their pocket and letting everyone of their friend's know about it on MySpace. And hey, who has time to research the future threat of our country when your busy watching this guy.
I'm not sure if this represents a sad trend in our nation or just the result of teenage girls flooding the internet. In the meantime I'll be getting Nostradamus back to the top. Well, at least after I'm done checking my Facebook.
